IS Clinical Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems
REPORT TO: Chief Information Officer
STATUS: Exempt
UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union
SCHEDULE: Full time, 40 hours
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops a strong collaborative working relationship with design session leader, and workgroup team members.
- Identifies process redesign opportunities and help guide overall design.
- Assists in the design, build and testing of EHR applications.
- Develops workflow documentation from design decisions.
- Assists with the development of reporting tools.
- Assists in the development of training materials.
- Assists in the gathering and dissemination of data for the purpose of benefits realization and return on investment.
- Attends education sessions and walkthroughs.
- Co-Leads team design sessions with Clinical Analyst Lead.
- Works with Clinical Analyst Lead to tailor the session agendas.
- Works with Clinical Analyst Lead to address integration and parking lot issues that impact other teams.
- Works with the Clinical Analyst Lead to ensure proper meeting logistics.
- Assists in developing final deliverables (as appropriate)
- Assists with the preparation of Prototype Demonstration Scripts.
- Co-speaker during their portion of Prototype Demonstration.
- Co-leads the documentation of workflow process, design opportunities and areas for standardization.
- Works with teams to coordinate and document rapid design sessions.
- Creates all materials (e.g. scenarios).
- Creates and distributes session notes, assumptions and decisions.
- Assists in conversion support.
- Assists in development of test plans.
- Serve as role model for design team members.
- Provides knowledge transfer regarding applicable QDOCS tools.
- Identifies key focus areas for education based on design decisions.
- Optimizes processes utilizing Allscripts/IDX technology.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Professional work experience as either a clinician or administrator of a medical practice, as well as the maturity and demeanor that allow the immediate establishment of professional credibility with new clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other clinical, administrative, and leadership staff within the client’s practice, including the ability to objectively review and analyze changes in workflow processes that impact multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a variety of settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problem-solve through both technical and human/interpersonal problems.
- Aptitudes for helping non-technical clients understand the capabilities of the products and services provided by the company and the impact that those products and services can have on their existing clinical and business workflow.
- Aptitude for guiding the client staff through changes in their workflow processes to achieve the client’s defined success criteria for the project.
- Aptitude for working with information systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience in reengineering and documenting the clinical and administrative workflows within a medical practice.
- Formal training and/or certification in teaching and training techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise with information systems, including IT certifications or practical experience with the installation, training, integration, or support of clinical or administrative information systems within a healthcare organization.
- High level of skill utilizing MS Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
