Registered Nurse

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Nurse shall perform various nursing functions
relative to the delivery of care to a diverse
patient population utilizing strong clinical
assessment and follow through skills. This
may include, but not be limited to planning,
direction and evaluation of all aspects of
nursing care. He or she shall ensure the quality
and deliver of nursing care for assigned patient
populations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interact directly with patients in a clinical
capacity to assess needs, develop and manage
appropriate treatment plans and coordinate
care and access to clinical services as needed.
2. Perform appropriate patient education
and training as it pertains to prognosis,
care management, treatment and the use of
specific maintenance drugs, including those
that are self-administered.
3. Maintain and participate as a member of
crash cart team during all emergency procedures.
4. Assist the physician in any procedure
that requires the attendance of a licensed
nurse or as needed.
5. Participate in the monitoring and recordkeeping
of all medical support activities, including
the schedule for testing of equipment, sterilization
of instruments and activities aimed at meeting
all regulatory and Company requirements.
6. Participate in ongoing training of medical
support personnel as needed or directed.
7. Perform routine triage tasks, vital sign
recording and monitoring and nursing assesment.
8. Completes or arrange for the completion
of various logs and forms, or provide appropriate
and reasonable oversight of such.
9. Administer injections, which may include
PPD, Flu vaccines, and immunizations. May
share the responsibility for oversight of
all injectables and ensuring adequate supplies
and inventories of such.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Demonstrated nursing competency in a multi-disciplinary
environment with indication for sound clinical
assessment and decision-making.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills as needed to effectively interact with
patients and all levels of personnel.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum two (2) years nursing experience is required or recent completion of an accredited nursing degree program. Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and implement nursing plans.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
NYS Registered Nurse with valid license is required.
